This was the day that Brett Favre started his first NFL game. He didn't miss another start for 6,651 days. Today, December 5 2010, Tarvaris Jackson takes over for the starter in place of the injured Favre. Since 9/27/1992, we've had 4 US Presidents. 2 George Bush's, Clinton, and current president Obama. The 'New Kids on the Block' were still a band at the time, they've since broken up and gotten back together after a 14 year break. ZERO Jurassic Park movies had been made. Nick Nolte was voted People Magazine's Sexist man alive. Tiger Woods was still an Amatuer Golfer. The Atlanta Sports Guy was only 10 years old, and Playing Quarterback for Peewee team The Bill Arp Falcons
NFL stats since 9/27/92: Only 2 players currently active were active when the streak started, kickers John Hason and John Kasay. Aaron Hernandez, New England TE, was less than 3 years old when Brett took his first snap as a starter. 238 Quarterbacks have started at least 1 games since September 27th, 1992.
This streak rivals most any streak in sports. To play such a violent sport and not miss a start for almost 20 years is unheard of. Regardless of your personal feelings of the man himself, the streak is something to respect.
