The Best there ever was

In a League where 350 lbs men aren't too uncommon, being active for 12 years is hard enough (average is 3 1/2 years). But being the best for that long is unheard of. Tony Gonzalez caught his 60th pass today, giving him 12 straight years with that many receptions. Not just by a Tight End, but recievers as well. This surpasses Jerry Rice's record of eleven years in a row. This is just another step in solidifying his place in history as the best Tight End in history.

Now lets look at the other records he holds.

By a Tight End:

Career recieving yards (13,414 yards)
Career receptions (1061)
Career TDs (87)
Single Season receptions (102, in 2004)
Most Career 1000 Yard seasons (4)

There is only one thing he's missing and in 2009, he came to the Atlanta Falcons to get his missing piece, a Championship ring. After helping the team get it's second consecutive winning season last year; this year he's helped Atlanta get off to a 12-2 start.
